Laundry and garage cabinets in Tampa, FL.
Laundry and garage cabinets are the same job in two very different rooms. A laundry room is inside the house, dry and cool, and any good box lives there. A Tampa garage is hot and damp for most of the year. Half the cabinets sold for it swell inside a year. Done right you get a laundry you can fold in and a garage you can park in. Done wrong you get doors that will not close by next summer. The difference is decided when the box is chosen.

Priced by written scope, never by the hour.
The room decides the box. Read this before you order.
Cabinet pages show white uppers over a washer. None of them tells you that a garage is a different climate from the room next to it. Here is what changes between the two.
A laundry room is inside the envelope
It is cooled, it is dry, and any cabinet that works in a kitchen works here. Uppers over the machines, a tall cabinet for the broom and the ironing board. A base with a counter to fold on. The only trap is the dryer vent, and we map it first.
A garage is outside it
No air conditioning, a slab that sweats, ninety degrees in the shade. Particleboard swells and sags. The boxes that last are plywood with a sealed finish, or metal. We tell you which ones will make it and which ones will not, before you buy.
The dryer vent and the washer box
The dryer vent runs from the machine to the outside, and an upper in its path pinches it. The washer box has the valves and the drain at a set height. Cabinets go around both, not over them. We map the wall before we size a box.
The floor drain and the water heater
Many Tampa garages have the water heater and a floor drain along the wall you want cabinets on. The heater needs clearance to work on it. The drain needs to stay open. The run is planned around both.
The feet and the room decide the price.
Two laundry rooms the same size can price far apart. Here is what moves the number on laundry and garage cabinets.
How many feet, uppers and bases
Uppers alone over the machines is the small job. Uppers, a tall cabinet and a base run with a counter is the full one. Count the feet of each. That is most of the price, before the room adds anything.
A sink or not
A utility sink in the base run means plumbing and a drain. In a laundry the drain is usually close. In a garage it may not exist. A sink is the one line that can double a small job.
The box built for the room
In the laundry a stock box is fine and cheap. In the garage a box that survives costs more per foot, and there is no cheap version that lasts. We say which one and why, so the number is honest.
The wall behind them
Laundry walls are drywall on studs. Garage walls are often bare block, and anchoring into block is a different fastener and more time. A wall that was never finished behind old shelves gets patched first, as its own line.
What gets settled before the machines move.
The price is written before the work starts. These are the things that get settled first, because they are what make the number hold.
A walkthrough of the real room
We measure the wall and find the studs or check the block. We map the dryer vent, the washer box, the outlets and any drain. In a garage we look at the heater, the panel and the slab. It takes an hour.
The boxes chosen for the room
Stock for the laundry, plywood or metal for the garage. Sizes on paper, uppers and bases, the counter if there is one. What is not in the drawing is not in the job.
The plumbing named, if there is a sink
A utility sink means plumbing, done by a licensed general contractor we work with, on its own line. No sink means no plumbing, and the scope says so.
A written scope, line by line
Old shelves out, wall repair, the boxes, the leveling, the counter, the trim and the hardware. What is in, what is not. The not in list is the honest part.
One closed price, with milestones
One number for the written scope. Payments are tied to stages you can see. Signing, boxes delivered, boxes set, final walkthrough. You pay for what exists on the wall.
What is included, and where it ends.
Every laundry and garage cabinet scope on this site says where it stops. These are the boundaries we put in writing before anyone starts.
How long the room is a job site.
Uppers over the machines is 1 day. A full laundry run with a counter is 2 or 3 days. A garage wall of cabinets is 2 or 3 days as well. The block wall is what adds the time. The machines are back in place the day we finish. Your scope has the dates.
When we tell you not to do it
Laundry and garage cabinets are sold as easy. Usually they are. Sometimes the room makes them a bad idea, and nobody says so until the doors will not close. These are the rooms where we say no, and why.
The box you picked will not survive the garage
Particleboard in a Tampa garage swells inside a year. We will not hang it and warranty it. We show you a plywood or a metal box that will last. If that is out of budget, we say so and stop.
The upper would pinch the dryer vent
A crushed vent is a fire risk and a dryer that never finishes. If the only place for an upper is over the vent, we reroute the vent first, as its own line. Or the upper does not go there.
The wall is wet
A garage wall that shows a water line, or a laundry wall soft behind the machines, gets fixed first. Then the box goes on. A cabinet over a wet wall hides the problem and rots from behind.
You want a garage full of cabinets and a car that will not fit
A base cabinet is 24 inches deep. Two walls of them in a single garage leave no room for the door to open. We measure the car before the run, and we tell you when the math does not work.
Lifetime warranty on our workmanship.
If the work we did fails, we come back and fix it. That holds for as long as you own the home. On laundry and garage cabinets it covers what we set and finished. The boxes staying level and anchored, the counter, the trim and the hardware.
A warranty is only worth what its exclusions say. Ours are above, in the same size type as the promise. Ask whoever you are talking to how long theirs runs, and get the number in writing.
Questions we actually get asked
What cabinets last in a Tampa garage?
Plywood boxes with a sealed finish, or metal. Not particleboard, and not the cheap laundry uppers from a big store. The room is hot and damp 8 months a year, and a box that is not built for it swells. We tell you which ones will make it before you buy.
Can you put a counter over the washer and dryer?
Yes, if the machines are front loaders. The counter sits on the bases or on cleats at the wall, and the machines slide under. Top loaders need the lid, so the counter goes beside them, not over. We measure both before the drawing.
Do I need a permit for laundry or garage cabinets?
Cabinets alone, no. A new sink drain or a moved outlet goes to a licensed general contractor we work with. They pull the permit. It is named in your scope with the fee as its own line, at cost.
Do you move the washer and dryer?
Yes, if the scope says so. We pull them, do the work, and put them back the same day. If the dryer is gas, a licensed general contractor we work with disconnects and reconnects it. We do not touch a gas connection.
Can the cabinets go around the water heater?
Yes, with the clearance the heater needs to be worked on. The scope leaves that space open and says why. Boxing in a heater is the one thing the next plumber will curse you for.
What makes the price go up after signing?
Only a change you ask for, or hidden damage we could not see. A change is priced in writing before it happens. Hidden damage is priced only after it is visible. Nothing else moves the number.
